Aside from being pressed for time some days and not writing as much as I might like, I'm finding that posting every day this time around is a lot easier.

Mostly it's because I've relieved myself of the burden of writing something "interesting". If I write about ordinary days, it's because I'm having ordinary days, and most of life is a series of ordinary days.

I just got a novella to beta for a friend of mine. He's been working with this story and trying to reshape it for years now, he originally wrote it in the nineties. I'm very pleased for him--he's joined a writers group, and that's going to be a big help to him.

My own story is languishing at the moment, but sometimes you need a little time to let an idea percolate. I've got the basics down, so now I find my mind is filling in the details I want to add that will make the story more vivid to the reader. Still haven't decided if I want to change it from first person to third person, but meh, I'll take it as it comes.

We just fed the cats their wet food, which is always a sight to see. When the days get a bit brighter again, I'm going to try to get a little movie footage of the herd. Fuzzy made me laugh last night because he was napping on the hassock and actually fell asleep so deeply that he didn't hear Ben opening the cans!

For one awful moment I thought he had also fallen ill, and then suddenly his ears went up and he jumped off the hassock and went running to the kitchen, afraid he'd missed something. To his relief, he was just in time for his plate to be set down. Wet food is serious business to a Fuzzy.

Now I'm off to play Last Remnant for a bit. Grind, grind, grind.
