Getting ready to hit the road again
Feb. 28th, 2006 11:04 amWell, my son has run out of options and is now going to go and stay with his grandmother. He won't be on Cape, but he won't be all that far either, and if he can find work, he will be able to save up some money and move back there. If that doesn't work out, there's a good cooking school not all that far away from me, one that he approves of, so we may yet end up with him there.
My mom is supposed to show up between 11 and 11:30. I'm waiting on that, once they have left I'll be able to get a hot shower and hopefully clear my sinuses of the nasty smell of sealer. My son finally painted his room last night, I had hoped he would do it while I was gone and he waited until the last minute.
We've begun collecting cats in the house, we let all of them except Zara go out this morning and now as they come in they stay in. My daughter will be checking on the last few while we're away and she's getting the rest of her stuff. I wish she had gotten it already, there is some furniture that we won't be keeping, and I had intended to put that out at the end of the driveway so that if anyone wanted it, they could take it. Right now, with all her stuff everywhere, we can't do that. So hopefully she will have grabbed enough by the time we return that we can do it then. I don't want to leave my landlord with junk to take out that we haven't made arrangements for.
I finally got a good night's sleep, so the drive shouldn't be too bad. I'm nervous about the loaded trailer, but we've added stuff carefully, and I'll take it on a short test drive before we leave on the actual journey to make sure things are well balanced and not shifting around. We bring the TV with us this time, so we'll undoubtedly have a blast getting that set up when we arrive... NOT! ;)
