100 Posts in 100 Days: Day 26

There was a very lovely sight this morning. It was gray and misty and of course the greenery that is still hanging in there isn't particularly bright.

I went out to the front steps and startled a surprising number of bluejays and cardinals who were gleaning missed bits from where we scatter the chicken feed.

It's coming to mating season, so their feathers are especially vivid and bright, and it was like a wild kaleidoscope of color in the air there for a minute.

It was a moment of perfect beauty.
