I got up and tried to do some coding, but I just wasn't focusing very well--I got far enough to decide how I wanted to handle some things but then my attention was just finding a ZILLION reasons to wander. I suspect it's because I need to let the code percolate for a bit. I also found myself thinking about Binky a lot. While the crying is more or less over, I really, really miss him.
I went off and played Last Remnant for a while. We have an old TV, and I managed to get to disc 2 and finally gave up in frustration because the resolution absolutely sucked and I couldn't read the text half the time. I knew you could run the Xbox through a monitor, but the official sanctioned Microsoft cable was around 40 bucks, way too much for me.
Well, a couple of months ago I found a cable that came to a grand total of $11.65 including shipping, so I got it. The xbox is now in the corner of the living room on my big monitor. It was weird to switch my computer back to the smaller monitor, but the adjustment didn't take long, and I'm hoping maybe I can pick up a used monitor that's the same model as the other.
Games are a lot more fun when you can make out the detail. There was one thing that was really funny. When you fight the monsters, you get components rather than gold. So you might get a fur or a claw or what have you. There was one item we THOUGHT said "spicy landworm leg". It was really hard to read, and there is a character who, faced with landworms, occasionally comments "mmm... that one looks good! nom nom nom".
It's a spiny landworm leg. Makes more sense now, LOL!
I may go back to the coding after dinner, I'm pretty relaxed now.
