I got a great package in the mail yesterday!

I've been wanting a Maneki Neko, or waving cat, for quite some time. I found some online that were just plain too pricey, and it occurred to me to ask [livejournal.com profile] madclarinet and [livejournal.com profile] babyghia if they could find one, being as they live very close to San Francisco and have access to the types of stores I only dream about now here in the boonies.

They did eventually get one, although ironically, after seeing hundreds on previous trips, suddenly they were rarer than hen's teeth (likely proximity to New Year's plays a part).

This one has the left arm raised and you can put in two batteries to have the arm moving like a metronome. It ticks like a metronome as well, so having the battery in lasted all of an hour or so, but that part was extremely entertaining.

Even better, in the package, there was a birthday present for me!!

I am now the delighted owner of a Max Factory R. Dorothy Wayneright!

This is THE greatest gift--I knew Max Factory had come out with a very large, very pricey Big O model, but I didn't know there was a new R. Dorothy, complete with Pero.  I'm afraid to open it until I get a safe place for the little extra pieces--you can change the head and face pieces so that you can see R. Dorothy's cd tray open instead of closed, and she even has a broom.

Thank you SO MUCH Alan and Rayna :)
