Fun with home appliances...
Apr. 1st, 2006 10:09 pm...and that's no April Fool!
We're going to move the dryer finally, I'm tired of looking at it against the living room wall. Besides, if I put it in the main bathroom where there's a 220volt plug, I can USE it, saving cash on doing laundry.
Anyway, long story short, one of the fins had come off the drum back when we were at the old house. So I figured I would see if I could fix it. Dryers are really interesting! I have so far figured out how to a) remove the front panel b) remove the top and c) fix the fin. I have not yet located the missing screws, however, they look average enough that I suspect I can get new ones at the hardware store. In the meantime, if I re-attach all the fins with two screws instead of three, I can safely use the dryer.
I found a small fortune in change in there, too, and vacuumed it out thoroughly. Amazingly easy, would have done it long ago had I realized.
