One fourteen-page amended contract later, I've had enough paperwork to last me for the next ten years...

Actually, it wasn't the contract per se, it was going over it with my roommate (who is purchasing the house with me) that wore me out. He reads everything, but then we go over it together.

Most of it was pretty standard stuff--like a whole section on lead paint and acknowledging we got the brochure and so on. There were the releases, which were really standard. What they boil down to is "This is a foreclosure, you're getting it at rock bottom price, therefore we aren't going to put a penny into it."

This is fine, but it does create reams and reams of additional forms to be read and signed. Oh, my head.

Got some good news from the bank--we won't have to have a separate closing lawyer, so we probably won't have to come up with a lot of extra money for closing, if we need anything.

I just got off the phone with an insurance company because I'm going to need homeowner's insurance, they'll be getting back to me soon.

With any luck, I'll have a closing date by Monday. :)
